The Last Chapter of the History of the World is based on a series of interviews with actors in Berlin and Prague about their experiences during the Corona pandemic as well as on Heinrich von Kleist’s On the Marionette Theatre, an essay describing an early utopia of a theatre without actors. The show examines human presence and absence, confronting an empty theatre space with actors, who reasses their place in it, trying to reclaim the stage.
